Powerful amplifier module allows any PA speaker to be easily converted to a powered monitor, or complete portable PA system. Open frame module is designed to be mounted into the rear of an existing speaker enclosure and provide an astounding 250 watt output (4ohm). Built in three–channel mixer features two balanced mic inputs plus a single line input, each with independent level controls.

I bought two of these when they were on sale. I was lucky enough to purchase some parted out JBL JRX115 cabinets from a local Guitar Center. I purchased MCM 15" woofers as well as 250 Watt Compression drivers from MCM for this project. These amplifiers are very powerful and most of all it's clean power. I've tested this amplifier with an Ipod at very high levels but I can't wait to get it out live for sound reinforcement. If you have some stage monitors or mains that you want to power without buying another rack mount amplifier, and save tons of money this is the amplifer to buy. It also runs very cool. After a half hour or so there was still no detectable heat coming from the heatsink.

I built two speaker cabinets and was going to use this to run them in parallel. Never had a chance because, twice in a row, two units fried before I could ever crank them up. The first one lasted about a minute and the second lasted about three or four seconds after hitting the power switch. Both of them kept blowing fuses and had a wicked vibration in the power cord. Scary.
